Ignis Mentis is a nonprofit built on a simple belief: the guidance that helps students discover opportunities, navigate college applications, and grow academically should not depend on where they live, what school they attend, or whether they know the right people.

We build tools that give every middle and high school student access to the same caliber of academic and college-planning support that has historically been available only to those who can afford private counselors. Our platform is free, level-indexed rather than grade-indexed, and designed to meet students where they are — not where a system says they should be.

Access is a right
Opportunity discovery, college research, and academic guidance should not require a zip code, a private counselor, or an alumni network. We build for the student who has none of those.
Meet students where they are
Our platform is level-indexed, not grade-indexed. A 7th grader in pre-calculus and an 11th grader in pre-calculus see the same resources. Academic progress is not a function of age.
Real mentorship, real people
Our mentor network connects students with older friends, college students, and trusted adults in their lives — not strangers matched by an algorithm. Relationships matter.
Privacy by default
Student data is private. Bulletin boards are visible only to the student and their chosen advisor. We never sell data, and we never will.
Built to last
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is legally protected. We answer to students and the communities we serve — not to shareholders or advertisers.
