Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program

About this program

A prestigious eight-week, in-person summer internship for U.S. high school juniors and seniors to conduct hands-on biomedical research under Stanford faculty and lab mentors, including seminars and culminating in a poster presentation; Bay Area residents receive selection preference. Stipend is given.

Who should apply

Open to Everyone but a fee waiver is given to students from families making under $80,000. Preference for Bay Area residents (U.S. citizens or permanent residents only)

Essays: Yes (essays, transcripts, test scores, rankings). Letters of recommendation: Yes (letters required).

Good to know

Housing is not provided, therefore students must be local or find housing for 8 weeks in the Bay Area.
